Special Events at the Club
The lifestyle at Laurel Oak is warm, friendly and fun. Ladies’ luncheons, wine dinners, children’s events and special event parties such as Super Bowl, Trivia Nights, Food & Wine Festival and Improv Comedy Night, to name a few, will keep your calendar filled. There are many events throughout the year for you to enjoy dinner and dancing along with piano bar evenings and weekly entertainment in the members lounge.
In addition to regular play there are many other opportunities to join members socially in tournament dinners, men’s and women’s mixed golf with dinner and fun, themed nine & dines such as Super Bowl and Cinco de Mayo.
A bi-monthly Friday night mixed doubles round robin is open to all levels of play. Come with or without a partner. Play is three rounds of no-ad scoring, and we mix up partners and opponents. This popular event usually draws from 20 to 44 players. Dinner at the Club afterwards is optional. This is a great, fun way to make new friends! Also for a great social and tennis experience come to one of our monthly pro-exhibition games and enjoy some superb tennis and mix and mingle with fellow members.
The Club has an evening duplicate game on the first Wednesday of each month and a Chicago scoring game on the third Wednesday of each month. Couples compete in both games, but pairs who are interested are encouraged to participate. Laurel Oak also offers women's and men's games (Chicago scoring) every Monday afternoon where players alternate partners. These games are lively and well attended. The women invite all women bridge players to their Annual Bridge Luncheon in the Spring.
The competition is "friendly" and is an excellent way to meet people with common interests. Bridge lessons are also offered at Laurel Oak if you wish to learn or improve your game.
